Today, I am posting nothing but... silliness, my thanks and, apparently anything else I could cram into this post in which I prattle on... and on. First up, I have some thanks for certain people, some "link love" that I've seen on some of the blogs I follow - it is quick, easy and fun to read! Hence, the reason I am doing something similar. Secondly, I thought it'd be fun to share a few videos of "cute" commercials. Although I watch little television, there are a rare few commercials that really amuse me. That is probably in part because they just aren't as "good" anymore. Seriously that is the case with a lot of media outlets today. Doing something totally different today, I decided to share a few of my favorite, cutest commercials.
Whether or not, this post of random-ness will "work" I must confess: I haven't clue!
First, I would like to express thanks to all my recent "follows." Wow! After taking a day off from all things writing, Internet and blogging, I powered up my antique computer (seriously, it is), logged into Blogger and was surprised to find I had new followers! THANK YOU, thank you. Just to single out my last six, Brooke, Emily, Gracie, Kaitlyn, Rachel, and Net Movie Blogger. I look forward to getting to know you all through your own blogs, and hope you are not strangers to commenting here or to introduce yourselves. And, a special thanks to each and every one of the readers who have been with this blog from the beginning - you, my readers are what keeps me blogging. It has been lovely getting to know you all; you are such good blog buddies, friends!
Okay, before moving on to my "purpose" for this post, I'd also like to thank the lovely Brooke from Lovers Letters and AnnaKate for including me in a blog award! Thank you bunches, Brooke and AnnaKate for awarding this blog the Liebster award! I am honored to be included as one of your nominees and always enjoy my visits to both of your blogs! Thank you, ladies.
Link Love:
Seriously? Why oh, why does the wait for this show to appear on DVD seem so... long. I blame two certain girls who shall remain name-less for this agony (but in all honesty, I don't hold it against you! *wink*).
This moment for being so incredibly sweet
This moment (I couldn't find a live clip) = bittersweet *sniffles*; and this one, "now, we have a secret..."
So over this song, now I've re-discovered a love for this one (well... I still love the former)
Found a pale purple dress that I loved (it's not like I'd have anywhere to wear it) but then I couldn't find the darn thing, so I went with this pretty find. Doesn't get much classier than that
Still taking in and pondering this mini-series - it definitely lived up to its 'expectations.' (The review.)
Loving this because it still makes me laugh
I still *heart* this dance from last week. Beautiful... just beautiful
Well... that was... fun...? Moving on...

Here are three television shows that I decided to post on Tumblr instead of the blog.
The links are also under "television"
These first two commercials are newer but both super cute! Something about both just makes you smile.
VW Super Bowl commercial.
My mother thinks these are the cutest ever commercials. There is a whole slew of them from E-Trade.
May I just say: HILARIOUS!
What are some of your favorites? As always, any comments are welcome - chime in below!

Okay...I'm totally excited to read watch all these! But, being a good little girl, I'll wait till all my schoolwork is done so I'm not sitting here till 1 watching them :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that Darth Kid commercial. I cannot get enough of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd the pig always makes me laugh.
Oh man I love Superbowl commercials. Especially the 2012 Doritos ones... I thought I was going to die laughing.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an interesting tv show... I haven't been able to find a tv show I like. I just finished the first season of the nine lives of chloe king, and there was a MAJOR MAJOR cliffhanger. And then they cancelled the show. :( I'm still not over my sadness. :P Guess I'll have to read the books now. :)
Trinka - ah, yes. I so remember those days. =) Hope the school day goes well.
ReplyDeleteCharity - it is cute, isn't it!? I think I had a different "beetle" one up first but then switched it out (yes, I am all the time, "tweaking" these posts). Those pig commercials are just hilarious in my opinion. They get me every time. =D
Rachel - hmmm... I'll have to look into those; don't remember them.
Two of my blogger friends are constantly talking about this show, so I kind of blame them for it seeming like such a loooong wait. ;D But, hey, it is all cool because I don't mind spoilers anyway. =) Oh, yeah, I've heard of "Chloe King." I am not really "into" those sorts of supernatural or teen tv shows but I am going to check out a CW show this fall (on DVD) and liked ABC Family's Switched at Birth. Have you ever seen Castle? Maybe you aren't really "into" crime shows but I love that show... trying to think if I watch anything along the lines of "Chloe King"... oh! Have you seen Pushing Daisies? It isn't really the same thing but it's really quirky in a lovable kind of way. Unfortunately, it was cancelled after only 2 seasons. Loved that show... and now it's gone. Isn't that the way it always is!? *sigh*
This was super, duper, fun! Where do I begin?
ReplyDeleteI'm not talking about Once Upon a Time too much, am I? =)
That clip from We Bought a Zoo is adorable--and I agree wholeheartedly with what is said =D LOL
BONES Season 5 is on of my favorites....
AND I LOVE THE DARTH VADER KID!!! AND THE PIG!!!!!
I watched a bit of Chloe King. It was kind of cool, for the pre-teen age demographic they were going for.
ReplyDeleteWhich CW show are you going to try out?
I haven't watched TV in forever because I hate commercials- I go for DVD's- but recently I watched a show and saw these: The nike running/singing commercial, "Baby I love you so much that I would run to you..." made me laugh so! And then there was a sore throat medicine commercial that had the lochness monster roaring and writhing around with a sore throat. I don't know why- but it really gave me the giggles. :)
ReplyDeletesuperbowl commercials are always hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteand that umbrella image is gorgeous!
xo TJ
Oh, this was so fun! I loved the "Just a Kiss" and the second commercial was really cute :)
ReplyDeleteThose e-trade commercials are my favorite. Like, "Because, apparently, riding the family dog like a small horse is frowned upon in this establishment!" Yup. THE best commercial.
I <3 the E trade baby.
ReplyDeleteI secretly want to learn how to manipulate videos so I can make some of my daughter.
Ella - thanks! I had a lot of fun putting this together and thought, "why not do something completely different to this blog's norm?"
ReplyDeleteSo I did. =)
Love that movie (We Bought a Zoo); it is just... cute! Season five of Bones... yeah, I really liked it, too but honestly? I am LOVING S6. It is phenomenal. (Of course, I know what it is leading up to, so that makes me all the more giddy!)
Heavens, no! I am just teasing you about Once Upon a Time. (I wouldn't have it any other way than you blogging/commenting about it and making me all the more thrilled.) Normally, I await the DVD sets just fine but I am so anxious about this one, it seems FORever! ;D
Both commercials = hilarious! Love 'em. =)
Charity - yeah...? I saw the promo material for it and read some articles on it.
Well, first I kind of took an interest in The Secret Circle (ironic, I know) but I haven't really read anything about it in ages now. It is Hart of Dixie that I think looks/sounds... "cute." I know just from what I've read and seen that it will have a lot of... "issues" but I am going to try it. =)
Rachel - I watch very little TV but aside from the news, I occasionally indulge in Dancing with the Stars as I did a week ago. =D
Hmmm... those two commercials don't ring a bell. I'll have to keep an eye out for them. =)
TJ - I don't see them "live" because I am so not a football kind of girl (it's rare that I watch more than 15 minutes) but those were cute!
Isn't it? I found it on one of my blog friend's Pinterest. =) Would love to take my little camera to that sort of setting.
Trinka - I know, right; love that song! It is so sweet... and romantic. *sigh*
I love that commercial! There is something really whimsical and dreamy about it. You get a different impression of it before it turns out completely innocent. My mother loves those E-Trade commercials - she laughs every time. =)
Juju - too cute! Isn't it!?
Hmm... wonder how that is done!? LOL! ;D
The Secret Circle? Really? That surprises me! =) I'm on the fence about it. It has more content concerns than The Vampire Diaries, and a lot more witchcraft. I haven't seen Heart of Dixie, but the previews do make it look cute. =)
ReplyDeleteI know, right...? I am so weird. ;-D Now you mention the content, I think that was what was so off-putting; I seem to recall reading somewhere that it was no cute teen series. Why, oh why do writers do that!? *mad*
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think Hart of Dixie looks really cute. I may be disgusted by it, but I'm going to give it a shot. =)
There's a LOT of implied sex / making out in The Secret Circle. I think they wanted it to be edgy, but it didn't work -- it has about half the viewership of The Vampire Diaries. (Frankly, it's not hard to see why -- TVD is just a better show.) But I also was annoyed that they didn't clean it up a bit. It's a fun series; it doesn't need the smut.
ReplyDeleteThat definitely rings a bell of familiarity. I am sure now that is why I lost any curiosity I may have had to try the show...
ReplyDeleteThe fact that writers think it is o.k. to encourage teens to continue their promiscuous behavior is... annoying. Really, writers? And, we wonder where young people get some of their ideas. (Duh!)
I can't imagine who you know who talks about Once Upon a Time over and over and over... ;)
ReplyDeleteOne thing I don't understand is, these shows are promoting a lot of bad behavior. It's not just sleeping around -- it's also underage drinking. Are any of the show's producers parents? How about the writers? Do they want THEIR kids to think that sneaking booze at age 15 is appropriate? Do they care? Or is it just OTHER people's kids that they want to set a bad example for with their characters?
ReplyDeleteBut then... these kids never have parents. Elena of TVD lost her parents in a car accident. Her aunt Jenna raises them for awhile, but she's more of a "big sister" type than anything else -- and then she dies. We never see most of the parents in Mystic Falls, or in Chance Harbor (TSC). What does this tell young audiences? You don't need your parents. You'll do just fine on your own. Parents are boring, and suck the fun out of life with their rules.
I feel bad for young people who know no better watching these shows. The lifestyle exhibited by the vast majority of teenagers on television today is not something to admire or emulate -- it is a set up for a lifetime of misery and pain.
Not to jump in...but here goes: Once Upon a Time is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Rest assured...or try to ;) that it IS worth the wait. Ella & I are probably partners in crime about that show...LOL Downton is my soap opera, but OUAT is my fantasy/network show. =D
ReplyDeleteAnd the Geicho pig commercial makes my laugh SO hard...every time!
*Love all your great comments, girls - this is such fun. ;D Note to Juju: I bet your daughter would be soooo cute, too. We'll have to figure that whole video-tampering thing out, right!? LOL!*
ReplyDeleteRuth - hmm... me either! I cannot imagine who I'm referring to. ;-)
Charity - you make an excellent point. That is what is so puzzling - I seriously think parents do care (or some do). I remember this conversation that Sean Hannity had with his employee and friend. She was hassling one of Sean's new producers who had been home-schooled, didn't "date" and was doing the whole "true love waits" thing. Basically, she was poking fun at her, and Sean turned it back on Flipper. He was referencing Flipper's past and asking, "would you want that for your daughter?" Her answer: No! In other words, it was o.k., for her to live one way but she'd hold her daughter to a higher standard.
What I find most sad is like you say: The kids who aren't being raised as you and I were. To be able to distinguish between "good" and "bad." That is the real tragedy. Really.
I am serious: We so need to write these shows!
Meghan - I love that you decided to "jump in," girl. =)
I have a feeling I'll totally agree with you about Once being worth the wait. Or that is my sincere wish. (I've watched the last so many mins of 2 episodes and was enthralled by just that.)
The commercial: I know, right?! There is just something about it...
