Presenting... Bleeding Heart by Amber Stokes

G’morning, dearies! Have you all flipped over your calendars; it’s already June and to help celebrate its arrival, there is a “first” on this blog today, one I am particularly excited to be a part of. Today I am honored to share in the lovely Amber Stokes (from Seasons of Humility or @SeasonsHumility) wonderful, exciting, thrilling news – she is self-publishing her first novel, Bleeding Heart.

To be honest, I cannot remember exactly how I “met” Amber but… I am so delighted to have done so! She’s a wonderful writer, a terrific blogger, and is all around a genuinely, lovely lady. More than once she's had a positive influence on me as a writer and I feel blessed to know her, and am happy that she is able to experience this new season in her life. All of the tears and hard work she poured into this book is finally paying off – and lest she think otherwise; Amber, this is NOT one of those pinch-me-until-I-wake-up scenarios (*wink*), this is really happening, my friend. Enjoy it - and congratulations.

Not only does Amber have a surprise in store for all of us today (the cover reveal!) but (psst!) it’s also her birthday. Happy birthday, Amber! June third marks a really special and memorable day for you – for more reasons than one, and I thank you for letting me (and everyone from Charity, Kara, Lydia and Rel) be a small part of helping you celebrate.

Learn more about Amber:

Amber Stokes has a Bachelor of Science degree in English and a passion for the written word - from blogging to writing poetry, short stories, and novels. After her brief time at college in Oregon, she is now back home among the redwoods of Northern California, living life one day at a time and pursuing her passion via freelance editing and self-publishing her debut novel, Bleeding Heart

Working with the talented Lena Goldfinch, the two ladies put together a cover for Amber’s debut novel. Even though I've not yet had the opportunity to read Amber's novel, from chats with her about it and reading the synopsis, I must say, it suits the book really well, and today, I am thrilled to be able to share it with you all!

Isn’t it lover-ly!? Kudos, ladies!

Here's the synopsis:
Five bleeding hearts. One profound journey.
Summer 1886
Sally Clay’s livelihood has been snatched away – but in its place arises an opportunity to escape from her sordid past and an unrelenting, unwanted suitor. Boarding a train with a heartsick rancher and an enigmatic miner, she leaves Virginia City behind and heads to Northern California, waiting for the chance to make right what went wrong three long years before.
The road to revenge is a rocky one, though, and Sally soon learns that the jagged pieces of a broken heart can far too easily wound the hearts of others. Tragedy and fear dog her steps as she flees from the redwood forests to the high desert and back again. Will her bleeding heart ever find a way and a place to heal?

A desperate soiled dove. Three men who come to care for her. One man determined to claim her.
All on a journey that will show them what true love really involves.
To help Amber celebrate the release of this novel, which is set to be available (if all goes as planned) in August, head on over to add her novel to your Goodreads shelf and come August, I have a feeling they’ll be more news and surprises around here regarding this novel! Keep up with all news of the novel on its very own blog!

I LOVE that birthday pic - too cute and pretty! My mom actually brought me home a balloon this morning: a HUGE, helium smiley-face balloon, which totally fits my mood today, LOL! :)

I'm so grateful for your friendship and humbled by your words. Thank YOU for all you do!! <3

    1. Mean every word sincerely Amber - and you made this so fun to put together! (Great emails and organization!) I found I liked putting together something more personal when I knew the person and was able to add in some personal touches. Proud of you for making this decision and going with publishing! I know it wasn't probably easy but you've put lots of work into this, and I am happy for you! (Have I mentioned that already!? LOL!)

Aw! Your mom sounds like a lovely lady. Who could resist a smiley face balloon!? They're the best!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

As am I. You don't know how much your words of wisdom (on Twitter) and here on this blog have meant. Thank you! ♥
